Here's What We're Reading this Pride Month

As you probably already know June is Pride month! It is a time to reflect with pride on how far we’ve come, while also understanding that there is still so much more work to be done.

In honor of Pride month we encourage you to do some reading about the history of the LGBTQ community, especially with this year being the 50th Anniversary of the Stonewall Riots. We also hope that you will take this opportunity to learn more about the experiences of members of the LGBTQ community, especially LGBTQ Older adults.

To get you started, here are a few articles that we are reading this month:

In June of 2017 H.O.M.E. launched the Welcoming LGBT Seniors at H.O.M.E. initiative. At H.O.M.E., we want to ensure that all residents are treated fairly and welcomed for who they are. In line with our mission and culture, creating a warm environment for and providing services that meet the needs of LGBT residents will enrich our role in providing quality, person-centered programming for low-income seniors.

Want to get involved in the work we do here at H.O.M.E. ? Find out how!
