Strategic Plan
By 2025, H.O.M.E. will be the leader in building intentional and diverse intergenerational communities and providing, or partnering with others to bring, housing services and advocacy to Chicago’s low-income older adults in their neighborhoods to improve their quality of life.
Strategic Plan 2022-2025
Beginning in mid-2021, H.O.M.E. engaged in strategic planning to identify priorities that would guide activities over the next three years. H.O.M.E. contracted with Michigan Public Health Institute to facilitate this process using a participatory process for strategic planning that allowed staff, members of the Board of Directors, partners, and people served from across programs and services to have a voice in the plan.

GOAL #1: Refine and Expand the Presence of H.O.M.E.'s Intergenerational Housing Model
• Refine the Good Life Senior Residences intergenerational model and develop potential application options
• Develop and market the Good Life Senior Residences intergenerational model
• Expand H.O.M.E.’s intergenerational housing portfolio in Chicago

GOAL #2: Expand Home Repairs for Seniors Aging in Community
• Reduce the waitlist time/backlog for repair services
• Provide repair services to a greater number of senior households
• Evaluate opportunities for additional repair & upkeep services
• Investigate the option to use H.O.M.E. to train community members in home upkeep and repairs

GOAL #3: Develop Policy Advocacy and Neighborhood Engagement Capacity
• Create and execute a process for continuing Board education on best practices in advocacy for service organizations
• Create and execute a process for the formulation of H.O.M.E.'s Policy Advocacy and Neighborhood Engagement agenda
• Create and execute the Policy Advocacy and Neighborhood Engagement staffing plan
• Form a Community Advisory Council that will contribute to H.O.M.E.’s Policy Advocacy and Neighborhood Engagement work in addition to informing H.O.M.E. on other items as needed

GOAL #4: Educate to Create a Culture of Community
• Demonstrate H.O.M.E.’s continued commitment to being a just, diverse, inclusive, equitable, and anti-racist organization
• Embrace and practice inclusive language and behavior
• Foster intentional relationships with the people H.O.M.E. serves and allied stakeholders
• Provide opportunities to learn, share and reflect on issues of importance to H.O.M.E.
