Life at Pat Crowley House

Last Friday was the last day of H.O.M.E.'s summer intern Emily. A bit sad for the seniors because they were always looking forward to the common outings and enjoyed spending their time with her. Right after the first meeting at the mini golf trip, and especially after going to the Botanic Garden and celebrating Community Night together, Emily became a memorable part of the residents' life. Good bye and the best wishes for you from all of the seniors!

...but life still goes on at Pat Crowley House: It is nice to see how each resident with his/her very individual traits shapes every day. Jim, the 'IT guy', hobby gardener and price hunter knows everything about the latest tech, TV shows and politics. He likes to host movie afternoons and takes good care of all the plants and the garden. Ask him about any (grocery) item and he can tell you if it's currently on sale and where to get it.

If there's still something you don't know, go to Christine. Forget about the library, just go to Christine, she knows everything. Being a lifelong, ambitious reader and proud owner of half a library in her room, she is full of knowledge. Especially when it comes to cooking, you can't expose her with anything.

Did you get lost driving in Chicago and can't find your way back home, or struggle to find a certain place? No worries, just make sure one of your passengers is Charlotte and you're good to go. Throw out the navigation system and turn off Google Maps, ask her where you need to go and follow her directions. On the way to the destination, as part of Charlotte's service, you get a free city tour with detailed explanations about almost every building and the history behind it. Ask about any street or house and she will tell you about the founder, his/her whole family tree and life. She is also the person to go to when it comes to history, politics and classical music.
