Its All-Star Seniors Week!

It's finally time for the all-star break, baseball fans! We're excited!

All_Star_Sentiors.jpgAs you may remember from last year's baseball outing, here at H.O.M.E. we love baseball!

... Well, some of us love baseball while some of us sit there and nod politely until the topic switches to something other than baseball. So, in honor of this week's All-Star game we will be honoring some All-Star Seniors.

First up is Bernard Lagat.  At 41, he is the oldest Olympian that will be representing the United States in to the Rio for Track and Field.

Now I know what you may be thinking, 41 is hardly a senior, but in the world of sports it sometimes can be. An athlete's sport can take a toll on his or her body so it becomes harder to compete, especially against younger competitors. The dedication that these athletes have to staying on top of their sport despite the challenges they may face and showing us that sometimes age is just a number is inspiring.

In case you missed Lagat's qualifying race, check it out!

In honor of the All-Star Game tomorrow we will be highlighting an all-star seniors every day this week on our blog and on social media! These seniors are retired or "senior" athletes and inspirational older adults who we can learn a thing or two from. Stay tuned!
