H.O.M.E. and the Chicago Marathon: 19 days to go!
Here at H.O.M.E. we are getting excited about the Bank of America Chicago Marathon on October 11. In case you missed our earlier blog posts, Bruce's nephew, Andrew Lawton, will be running the race this year and is raising funds for H.O.M.E. His goal is $4,500 and so far he is about 40 percent of the way there.
Along the way, he has been blogging about training and why he is supporting H.O.M.E. through his efforts. You can also read about his upcoming move, and how it reminded him of why our Moving Program is so important.
Earlier this summer Andrew visited the Nathalie Salmon House and met some of our residents. Here's what Andrew thought about his visit:
But you know, I don't know who was charmed more, Andrew or our seniors! (Read more about his visit here.)
Running a marathon is impressive in and of itself, but we are also grateful for Andrew's support. To return the favor, we want to support Andrew by having a group of people cheer him on during the race. If you would like to join us, please sign up by clicking the link below.

If you can't make it, but want to show your support for Andrew, help him reach his goal by making a gift and writing "Marathon" in the notes section.
