Join the Young Professionals Board of H.O.M.E.
The Young Professionals Board (YPB) of H.O.M.E. introduces young professionals to the programs and work of H.O.M.E. The objective of the Young Professionals Board of H.O.M.E. is to promote the mission of H.O.M.E. through volunteer, social, and fundraising activities. The YPB members assist H.O.M.E. by attending regular meetings, working in committees to plan fundraisers and events, and promoting H.O.M.E. to their family and friends.
Here are our requirements:

Be committed to H.O.M.E.'s mission of helping low-income seniors in Chicago maintain their independence by providing home upkeep and repair, a shopping bus and three affordable, intergenerational buildings.

Be between the ages of 21 and 35.

Be devoted to expanding H.O.M.E.'s influence by using your skills and strengths to increase awareness, encourage volunteer participation, and raise funds through various outreach events and activities.

Commit to the YPB for 24 months.

Attend meetings regularly, normally in January, March, May, July, September and November. Committees will meet in February, April, June, August, October, and December.

Actively participate in one of the following committees: Volunteer Committee, Social/ Fundraising Committee, and Advocacy and Network Communications Committee.

Be willing to submit to a background check.

Be willing to pay an annual membership fee of $100.

Please include an explanation of why you would be a good candidate for the Young Professionals Board of H.O.M.E., your leadership skills and involvement in other civic/leadership boards and your interest in elderly care. Send the completed application, your résumé and a one-page personal statement to:

*Please note that all applications are considered confidential and will only be reviewed by members of the Young Professionals Board of H.O.M.E. Search Committee of the H.O.M.E. Leadership Team and Board of Directors. Applications will be reviewed to assess an applicant’s qualifications for membership based on the following criteria: (1) leadership experience; (2) community service; (3) industry and employer; and (4) overall presentation.
