10 Things Happening in Chicago this Summer

Can you believe that we are halfway through the summer? How time flies! Never fear, there's still plenty of time to enjoy the rest of summer with activities and events throughout the City of Chicago! Here are some summer festivals and activities for you to enjoy!

1) Fiesta del Sol | July 25-28

Fiesta Del Sol, an annual event in Pilsen! Enjoy live 

entertainment, local art, a variety of food, carnival rides, and much more family-friendly activities. This fiesta also helps support the Pilsen community.

2) Taste of Lincoln Avenue | July 27-28

Enjoy music, food, and other fun activities for all ages! Activities include: enjoying the local food, volunteering, wine, and whiskey tasting, and watching talented performances!

3) Edge Fest | August 3-4

A family-friendly event with local entertainment and local cuisine. There will even be a Pet Parade on Sunday, August 4th, 2019 at 4 pm! This fun fest 

4) Illinois State Fair | August 8-18will be supporting the Edgewater neighborhood.

This year Illinois State Fair will feature live acts such as Snoop Dogg, Pentatonix, Why Don't We, Reba McEntire, and more. You can enjoy competitions, food, carnival rides, and attractions at the Illinois State Fair!

5) The Taco Crawl | August 10

Do you like Tacos? Well here's an event for you! Enjoy some tacos with your family and friends at the Taco Crawl.

6) Northalsted Market Days | August 10-11 -

Stop by Market Days for the 38th annual festival! Enjoy live entertainment, food, and drinks in Chicago’s historic Boystown/Lakeview district! Did you know that it is one of the largest street festivals in the Midwest!

7) Taste of Greektown | August 23-25

 

Stop by Greektown for this annual culinary event filled with lots of Mediterranean cultures.

8) ¡Muévete! Con Karaoke | July 26th, 2019

Do you like to dance or enjoy listening to different kinds of music? Then ¡Muévete! Con Karaoke is the place to be. Part of the Villapalooza celebration for all age groups to enjoy the arts, culture, and community engagement.

9) | Renegade Craft Fair Chicago | September 7-8

Do you enjoy crafts or enjoy creativity? Then go to Renegade Craft Fair in Chicago and help support local artists near you!

10) Volunteer with H.O.M.E! - All year round!

Are you into community engagement? Come and volunteer with us! During the Spring and Summer H.O.M.E has a painting program where volunteers help assist senior homeowners living in the City of Chicago, south of North Avenue by painting rooms inside their homes. H.O.M.E also has other volunteering opportunities year-round such as serving as a guest chef at our intergenerational homes!
