Field Museum Outing

Friday morning, the sun was shining like it was mid spring, and the seniors at the Good Life residence 'Pat Crowley House' (PCH) got ready for the outing to the Field Museum.

The first thing to see was the famous gorilla called 'Bushman', followed by the two giant elephants on the 2nd floor and one of the iconic features of the museum: the T-Rex 'Sue', considered as the most complete and conserved T-Rex skeleton of the world.

The next stop was the Chinese jade collection, to which Pat Crowley House resident Christine was especially looking forward. She is very knowledgable and could explain a lot about the background of the jade art. At 12:30 pm, the seniors from PCH and Nathalie Salmon House (NSH) were meeting for home made lunch, which was previosly prepared and bagged by Maria (see picture) and NSH's housing coordinator Nikki, who also came to the outing.

After a nice meal, the last stop was the Tibet exhibition, where you could see and learn a lot about their religious beliefs, their lifestyle, Tibetan history and much more. Although there were many people in the museum that day and it was at times loud and busy, the seniors enjoyed their time getting out of the house and are looking forward to the next outing.
