Peoples Gas Weatherization

Hey guys, what's up?

On Saturday, November 5, a dozen low-income seniors here in Chicago were glad to have their homes weatherized.

Peoples Gas, a natural gas delivery company of Chicago, mobilized their established H.E.A.T. (Home Energy Assistance Together) team. Together with Chicago Public Schools student volunteers from Taft, Morgan Park and Curie high schools, they formed an enormous group of around 100 people, ready to prepare homes for the winter.

"Although we are having a very mild fall, cold temperatures will soon be here."

-- Andy Hesselbach, vice president - construction, Peoples Gas

Not only did the Peoples Gas team the weatherization, but also provided a free energy audit of the homes, installed several free energy-saving products and gave tips on how to save and manage energy costs.

"Over the past several years, team H.E.A.T. and H.O.M.E. have partnered to help low-income senior homeowners stay a little warmer"

-- Mike Laz, operations and volunteer coordinator - H.O.M.E.
