The Willow Creek volunteers, Halloween and the Oriental Institute
The Weatherization Program has already begun. On October 22, we had a group of 16 volunteers coming, ready to insulate four homes for low-income seniors in Chicago. The group was provided by the Willow Creek Community Church of Chicago, a mega church located downtown which helps us now the second year with the weatherization. The volunteers are friends of H.O.M.E. and a big support for us. Thank you very much for your effort!
What about you? Do you want to make seniors feel happy and comfortable in the cold winter months? Then come and help with our Weatherization Program!

On Thursday, our seniors had the chance to get out for a museum visit: The Oriental Institute of the University of Chicago.
The admission was free and we got to see exhibitions of the ancient eastern cultures - and all of it were originals: 3000 years old sculptures, mummies, hieroglyphics, a 40 ton winged bull with a man's had made out of stone and many more things to discover. It was a nice diversion in contrast to the seniors' daily routines and the weather was amazing, so the car ride on the Lake Shore Drive was also pretty enjoyable - except of the rush-hour traffic on our way back.
Stay tuned for more and see you next time!
