H.O.M.E. partners with UIC in ENGAGE-IL Collaboration
Through the support of the Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement Program, the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) and H.O.M.E. are expanding their partnership. The ENGAGE-IL initiative will expand community health programs offered to H.O.M.E. residents, staff, and caregivers throughout January.
The UIC IP Leadership ENGAGE – IL Team has worked with H.O.M.E.'s senior residents to identify health topics for a weekly interactive program, Thursdays at H.O.M.E. UIC and H.O.M.E. began their partnership six years ago through the UIC College of Medicine Patient-Centered Scholars Program. Through this program, medical students are paired with senior residents in a mutually beneficial project focused on person-centered care. Since the partnership began, UIC has expanded its program to include schools of social work, nursing, pharmacy, and more.
