Thank you Helen

In 2003 retired school teacher Helen Zabielski donated her eight unit apartment building where she lived since 1939 to H.O.M.E. We were able to secure funds to renovate the entire building and then Helen moved back to one of the two bedroom units where she lived for six years before moving to a nursing home. Helen passed away on September 4 at the age of 93. 

H.O.M.E. and all the residents of what we now call Blackhawk Manor are extremely grateful for Helen’s generous gift and it will remain a legacy to her for many years to come.
