Making Your Ward Work for Seniors and Persons with Disabilities!
Elected representatives and their staff from all 50 Chicago Wards are invited to hear from low-income seniors and people with disabilities about their concerns and recommendations to promote an age-friendly community in Chicago.
State Representative LaShawn K. Ford, of the 8th District of the Illinois House of Representatives, will be the main speaker. There will also be a “resource room” with information from Chicago departments focused on senior services.
“Let’s Kick It!” is also an opportunity to share information of interest to seniors and people with disabilities in Chicago, such as a Chicago Senior Bill of Rights and an Illinois Senior Home Preservation Program bill sponsored by Fix Our Homes Illinois, a coalition that H.O.M.E. has facilitated since 2023.
