Herma contacted H.O.M.E. because she wanted to accommodate her visiting father and needed grab bars by her bathtub. Moreover, the living room window frame in her south side home of 52 years deteriorated to the point where “the air was coming in and the heating bill went sky high.” Pointing behind her, Herma added, “We didn’t stay here because it was cold.”
