Sending a Virtual Valentine to the H.O.M.E. community

Happy Valentine's Day to those we love!

download-6.jpgValentine's Day is such a great time to let those around you know just what they mean to you. There are so many people connected to H.O.M.E. that help us provide essential housing support services to low-income seniors in Chicago.

This week, we'd like to highlight those groups of people, and say a big THANK YOU.

Here's a Virtual Valentine to all of you:

1. Volunteers

CityYear-volunteer.pngSince the beginning, H.O.M.E. has relied on volunteers to help us achieve our mission of helping seniors remain independent and connected members of their community. Whether it is painting a senior's home to give them a more comfortable living environment, providing a meal to our Good Life Senior Residents, or gardening at one of our buildings, the time that volunteers give is so important to helping seniors live their best lives. We can't say it enough: We love our volunteers.

2. Staff

H.O.M.E.'s dedicated staff is at the heart of all that we do. We could go on and on about the caring people who carry out our mission each day, by our clients say it best:

"[She] seemed like an angel to me, knowledgeable, knows her job."

"Our driver...is one of the politest, most helpful people an old person could ask for. He is a gem!"

"[The Operations Coordinator] and staff let me know they are there to help.”

“The work was done very professionally and the handyman was friendly, which made me not afraid.”

Wow! A huge THANK YOU to our staff.

3. Community partners

UIC_pic.jpgOne of our core values is to provide exceptional service to seniors that looks beyond the immediate problems that they face. One of the ways we do this is by not only providing unique programs ourselves, but by connecting seniors to partner organizations. The organizations that we work with to provide services and resources to seniors enhance our programs. Our community partners are fantastic!

4. Board members

Both our Board of Directors and Young Professionals Board provide support for and 2015_Celebration_Dinner_29.jpgpromote our mission. They bring a range of talent to H.O.M.E., connect us to the community, and guide the organization. We could not be prouder of the wonderful leaders who serve as board members

5. Donors

We depend on the continued support of friends like you to help low-income seniors in Chicago remain independent. Our donors bring smiles to the faces of seniors every day by providing home repairs, transportation, community, meals, and more. We couldn't do it without donor support.donation impact.png
